The Red Hats are a group of volunteers that can help out on a consistent basis, about a minimum of 2-3 times a month. They usually know their way around power tools and have some sort of experience doing construction work. Construction work can be anything from being a DIY-person to a handy man/woman around the house to a retired contractor. Red Hats should skilled enough to be able to work without the direct supervision of the Site Manager, however, the Site Manager will be around to answer question and/or teach a skill that you may not know as well. You DO NOT have to be an expert in everything, if you are willing to learn, please apply!
Red Hats could assist the Site Manager in leading volunteers in certain activities.
A typical day start at 8:30 am. It usually goes to about 3:30, if not a little before.
We determine if we need Red Hats on a certain day based on how many volunteers we have coming in that day. Our work days go from Wednesday to Saturday.
Red Hats are usually knowledgeable about power tools and construction sites. But they are not "all knowing" and are opened to learning from either other Red Hats or the Site Manager.
