Columbia ReStore

Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake proudly owns and operates five ReStores throughout Central Maryland, which sell new and gently used furniture, home goods, building materials, appliances, and more at discounted prices.

  • Every Habitat Chesapeake ReStore sale supports our operating costs so donor funds can go directly to building and rehabilitating homes.
  • ReStore sales account for nearly 30% of Habitat Chesapeake's revenue.
  • ReStores divert 3.6 million pounds of waste from landfills.

Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake relies on the efforts of our volunteers who donate their time and energy.

What We Do

Volunteer opportunities are available Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am - 5:30pm

From June 23rd - July 7th volunteer shifts at the Columbia ReStore will be focused on construction/deconstruction work as we prepare to move to our new store location. The nature of the tasks range from assembling/disassembling racking and display cases, installing slatwall paneling, packing and unpacking trucks, moving large items utilizing pallet jacks, hand trucks, and furniture carts. Volunteers may also assist with dismantling fixtures and using power tools. Some tasks may involve working at heights using ladders or lifts.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older to participate.

We encourage volunteers to explore opportunities at alternative HFHC locations if the temporary scope of work in Columbia is unsuitable.

THANK YOU for your flexibility, dedication and help during this exciting move. We couldn't do it without you!
