Description

Thank you for volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake!

We are looking forward to having you join us on site. Please read this description for the most up to date information.

Scope of Work:  We will be installing doors and floors. The tasks are subject to change the day before your scheduled build.

Location: 901 N Rose

Schedule:

8:30am – Arrival/check-in

8:45am-9am – Orientation: This includes our Safety Orientation that ALL volunteers are required to receive every time they come on site.

9am-11:30am – Working to complete the assigned tasks for the day.

11:30am-12pm – Lunch

12pm-2:30pm – Working to complete the assigned afternoon tasks.

2:30pm-3pm – Clean up and closing remarks.

Parking: There is street parking on N Rose or E Eager.

Dress Code: Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. As a safety consideration, avoid loose-fitting or baggy clothes. Please check the weather before you come out and dress accordingly.

Sturdy, thick-soled, closed footed shoes are required (No Crocs). We strongly recommend wearing boots; however, we realize that not all volunteers own a pair of boots. Our Site Supervisors have final say as to if a certain type of shoe is allowed on the construction site.

Lunch/Water: Please bring a lunch. There will NOT be time to leave and go buy a lunch.  We will have a cooler of water on site however we recommend that you bring a water bottle, this helps us cut down on plastic waste.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email volunteer@habitatchesapeake.org
